Just in case anyone was wondering

like I was, if by chance the bass are biting, the answer is no.  At least not where we tried today.  As you can see in the below picture, the cove we usually fish is still partially frozen over and the water level in the lake is super high right now.

Another shot of the cove from a different angle which gives an idea of the water level.  Later, in the spring after they start draining the lake to irrigate the rice fields, we’ll be able to walk way out past where those weeds end.

Not all of the lake is frozen over and we were able to walk up into the woods to get around to some open water to fish.  Right now the water is up so high that the wooded area where we walked along the water will be about 15-20 feet or so above our heads once spring comes.

Ty doesn’t get skunked too often so I thought I’d snap this pic of him coming out of the woods empty handed.  It was a really nice day and even though we had a pretty good idea we wouldn’t catch anything, we still wanted to head out to wet a line and get out of the house for a while.

Just a couple more months…a couple more months…

If I had a job where I could pick up on a Monday and go fishing I might take it up again. Maybe I should change my dream. I want to be a Nomad when I grow up.

    Joel,

Not just any Monday, but President’s Day at that. Maybe you could convince your employer to recognize U.S. holidays as well as the Korean ones? :)
