Some lucky folks are already catching nice bass…not sure where this lake (Gobok) is located, but if the weather stays like it is now and keeps warming up, we should be back in business before too long.

What is the right temp to start thinging about getting back out?
I thought it was going to be a short winter in Georgia, but last week was a very cold one. I’d like to start fishing again, because I’m bored stiff, but I don’t know when the right time to think about getting back out is. I’ll probably start back in early March regardless….
Fish looks blue from the cold. Or maybe it’s just my monitor.
US, I’m no expert, but the really good bass fishing will begin with the spawn, and that happens at somewhere around a water temperature of 65-70 degrees, but that doesn’t mean you can’t catch fish before the spawn.
I would think that you could catch bass year round in Georgia, just alter your techniques a bit.

What Rob said is correct…the water temperature for bass to spawn is between 60 and 70 degrees, although there is a period before that called pre-spawn where they actively feed. But like Rob also stated, in the South, you can catch them year round…they just move a little deeper during the colder months and alter their feeding patterns.
One of my students told me he catches big ones at the Andong Dam.
I’m looking real close at that measuring device and it says mm no inches, so its a bass about 16 mm long, just a baby a minnow??? LMAO
