One thing I've noticed about that river; the closer you get to the sea wall, the nastier the water gets. I think all the dredging and construction going on near the power lines down that way puts a lot of silt into the water. Dave,

Once I got to the river and saw and felt what the weather conditions were like, I honestly didn't expect to catch one single one, much less get all the bites I did get.
