Tough morning

It seems that my bass catching skills are lacking those of you guys up North. I fished for 6 hours yesterday with only one 12 inch bass to show for it.

I lost and missed a few bass (that felt much bigger) due to my lack of concentration :???:  The worst part is, this was my last chance to catch a few before heading back to Nigeria on Sunday. Man time flies

Don’t feel bad Steve, it’s just that time of year. My wife and I headed out to Gosam today and it was DINK City once again. She caught the biggest one of the day and it was about the size of the one you’re holding up.

Damn! Yes, time sure does fly by. It seems like you just got back!

    Steve,

Just think how nice it’ll be when you get back…cool temps, the fish will be hungry…

    Rob,

Man, that lake is a tougher nut to crack than Idong…as you said, people claim there are nice bass in Gosam but I’ll be damned if I can catch one. In 6 or 7 all-day trips out there in a boat, the biggest I’ve ever pulled out of that lake was around 2 pounds. All the rest were around 1 pound, or less :(

Yea, I guess you are right, it’s always dinks and tough at this time of year, plus the heat kills me so I can’t concentrate…..that’s my story and I’m sticking to it

Hopefully, this should be my last time in Nigeria and when I get back I should have a few months spare before I need to start work again.

A few months off would be SWEET! :)
Gosam sure is a beautiful lake, but man the fishing is tough out there.
